Fabrications And Repairs
Costikyan can perform several fabrications and repairs in your home using binding and serging methods. Our team utilizes binding and serging to prevent a cut edge from unraveling (especially near doorways, hearths, outlets, and vents) or to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the carpet. The process can be done by machine or hand depending on the product.

Carpet Installations
We utilize a variety of materials, installation methods, and seaming techniques to ensure our customers a seamless installation no matter the room or staircase.

Tackless Method Over Padding
Carpet is installed over a pad and held in place by a tack strip installed around the perimeter of the area being covered. Padding is installed using the longest and most continuous lengths possible with consideration given to traffic patterns and seam placement. We recommend a firm pad like our 40 Oz. Synthetic Felt padding.

Direct Glue Down
A floor adhesive is spread uniformly over the subfloor with a trowel, leaving ridges of sufficient height to achieve full and complete coverage. A direct glue seam adhesive is applied to the trimmed edges for seaming without contamination of the face yarns.

Double Glue Down
We suggest this method when additional comfort and loft is desired. In this method, a separate cushion is adhered to the subfloor and the carpet is glued to the cushion.

Loose Lay
Carpet is cut and shaped to fit the configuration of the room. It is then finished using binding material and/or serging. It covers all floor without having to use a tack strip or adhesive to keep the carpet in place. The finished rug can also be spread over a padding if needed.
