  • Sharps

These are general sewing needles used by dressmakers around the world. Larger sizes are known as carpet sharps and, as the name suggests, are used in the design and repair of carpets and rugs. Largest size needle
    1 14/16” to smallest 1 3/16”

  • Betweens /Quilting

Specifically designed for quilters, the short length of these needles allows you stitch far faster than when using an ordinary needle. Excellent for work on fine rugs. Largest size needle
    1 8/16” to smallest 1”.
  • Tapestry

These large eye needles allow the user to thread tapestry wool or six-stranded cotton, whilst the blunt end enables the needle to pass through canvas without tearing it. This needle is perfect for sewing with wool or cotton warp threads. Blunt End. Largest size needle 1 14/16” to smallest 1 7/16”.
  • Chenille

These needles are identical to tapestry needles except that they have a sharp point which will pass through coarse fabrics and backs of rugs. Excellent for sewing with wool or cotton warp thread. Great for making edging. Sharp points. Largest size needle 1 14/16” to smallest 1 7/16”.
  • Crewel/Embroidery

These needles have a longer eye which makes them ideal threading stranded cotton (thicker threads). Apart from this they are the same in length and point as ordinary sewing needles (Sharps). Easier to thread, with a larger eye. Largest size needle 1 14/16” to smallest 1 4/16”.
  • Milliners

Although traditionally used in the millinery trade, they are now more commonly used for pleating and fancy decorative stitches. They are similar to an ordinary sewing needle except that they are longer. Great for sewing heavier rugs. Largest size needle
    2 5/16” to smallest 1 10/16”.
  • Darners

As the name suggests, these are used for darning work. Sizes 14-18 are known as yarn darners. Larger sizes are very good for sewing wall to wall carpeting together. Works well with wax linen thread. Largest size needle
    2 15/16” to smallest 1 7/16”.
  • Long Darners

Another form of darning needle, the extra length and large eyes make these suitable for mending with wool. Very good for Fringe replacement, sewing with cotton warp thread. Largest size needle
    3 12/16” to smallest 2”.
